This is a larger version of my usual tam style berets, in response to customer requests. This Scottish Highlander bonnet is knitted from soft grey alpaca, in a marled mix of grey tones. It has a softly rolled and stitched edge for easy styling, and although it's good and warm, it's light enough to fold up and pop in your pocket.

The diameter of this Scots bonnet is 12.5" across, when laid flat. I've allowed more depth too, so there is a considerably larger "droop" about the tam when its worn, and it hangs easily over the ear. My standard size is 23" circumference with a little stretch, but if you need smaller or larger please just leave me a note at checkout and I'll gladly make you one to fit.

Other colours are available in this size: dark green, charcoal, navy, hazel brown, airforce blue, coffee and deep maroon at present, but you can order any of the colours in my standard size alpaca tams (11” diameter) in this size - just message me your preference and I’ll make you a custom order.

To care for your tam please hand wash it and dry it flat.

All my designs are my own originals - despite the presence of some shops copying here on Etsy now, this is the source of the original tried and tested products - I've been making my berets since the 1990s so they have been on a lot of heads! :)
I make all my pieces myself in my little North Devon studio close to the coast. I use my vintage knitting machines and careful hand sewing to complete. I hope you will love them!
